On 1 October, Mary was in New York, for the launch of a newly created international panel, the High Level Task Force for the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) of which she is a member of.

The panel consists of 24 people and is led by former Finnish president Tarja Halonen and former Mozambique president Joaquim Chissano. In the coming years, the international panel will help to ensure the global fight against maternal mortality and wishes to contribute to the international awareness and dialogue on women's reproductive health and rights.
At the launch Mary also gave a speech in which she stated: "I am happy to be able to contribute to a  world where every pregnancy is wanted, where all births can be carried out in a safe manner, and where all women have the right to choose on an informed basis - whoever they are and wherever they live. "

Max Mara 'Bosco' dress, €346
For the occassion, Mary wore the rust/white/black printed sleevesless 'Bosco' dress by Max Mara (€346), combined with a still unidentified black blazer.

She also wore here trusted 18k gold with Tahitian pearl 'Aqua' earrings from Danish jewelry designer Marianne Dulong ($1,857.50).

The shoes we have seen Mary wear on lots of previous occassions. They are her tan patent leather 'Gilbert' pumps from Jimmy Choo (€365).  They are not available anymore in that colour, but on the Jimmy Choo website the shoes are still available in nude, black, purple and red.

She combined her earrings with a matching necklace pendant from Marianne Dulong, the 18k gold and silver with freshwater pearl and 6 brilliant cut diamonds 'Roxy' pendant ($1,379.06)
The bag we have seen Mary carrying with her during the London 2012 Olympics. It wasn't identified, but assumed Prada. With new close-ups of the back of the bag, I  actually think this bag is a version of the famous Hermes 'Birkin' bag (or a similar Hermes bag) that Mary also owns in black. Below you can see on the left close-ups of the bag during the Olympics. I think the flap of the 'Birkin' bag is tucked inside because the bag is so full. On the right you can see a close-up of the bag. Below are two pictures of the Hermes 'Birkin' bag.

The reason I don't think it's Prada is because every Prada bag of that size I have seen so far has very different attachments of the handles, most of the time with a copper or metal ring included. I could very well be wrong, but the Birkin bag is a closer fit than the Prada bags I have seen so far.

On 21 September 2012, the last day of the State Visit to Brazil, the day started early for Mary, with the opening of the P.W. Lund seminar at the PUC University. Peter Wilhelm Lund was a Danish paleontologist, zoologist, archeologist, who spent most of his life working and living in Brazil. For the occassion Mary also revealed a memorial in honour of the man.

After that the couple had a joint program with several stops. First, they both attended a water seminar, where Danish companies could meet with decision makers from Minas Gerais and discuss the challenges and solutions to Minas Gerais' water supply.
After that, Frederik and Mary visited the P.W. Lund Memorial, where they were received by the Mayor of Minas Gerais, Rogerio Avelar.

Their last day in Brazil ended with the couple opening the P.W. Lund Museum. There, both Mary and Frederik were given a tour through the museum, after several people, including Crown Prince Frederik gave a speech.
During the last day, Mary wore a sleeveless printed dress from the F/W 2009 collection of Hugo Boss Black, that she has worn on several occassions in the past.

She combined the dress with an unidentified small patent leather yellow belt.

As for the jewelry, Mary went Marianne Dulong again, with the large gold and diamond 'Karishma' earrings (€ 2,903.04) in her ears, combined with aquamarine or turquoise earring pendants.

On her wrist, both her 18k gold and diamond 'Lumina' bracelet (€4,132.80) and the 18k gold and diamond 'Ellipse' bracelet (€2,755.20), combined with (most likely) three rings from Marianne Dulong as well: the gold and aquamarine 'Cabuchon' ring ($1,547.92), and either two of the narrow or wide 'Mushroom' ring (or a combination).

At the end of a long day with three different occassions, Frederik and Mary attended a dinner with Mr. Antônio Anastasia, the governor of the state of Minas Gerais, together with representatives from various Danish companies in Brazil.

For the dinner, Mary wore a blue printed one shoulder dress from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection from Danish designer Jesper Høvring.

She paired the outfit with the gray 'Eugenie' clutch from Marc Jacobs (€275) that she carried with her during several other occassions on this tour, and her trusted python leather Gianvito Rossi heels from the label's Fall/Winter 2011 collection ($595).

The earrings that Mary finished her outfit with, are a pair she has worn to several previous occassions in the past few years, but they haven't been identified yet. Do love them though...

EDIT: they look a lot like the 'Eclisse' earrings from Italian jewelry house Damiani ($4,459), but the top part is very different. Mary uses the top part often with different pendants attached to it.
On the left a video of the evening. It's not in English, but still fun to watch!

On Thursday 20 September 2012 Mary and Frederik continued their visit to Rio. First having seperate agendas, Mary visited the Human Milk Bank Project at the Institute Fernandes Figueira, which helps underweight newborns and mothers who can not breast feed their babies.

In the afternoon, Mary met with Frederik again to visit the Olympic Committee who gave an insight in their preparations for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Finally, in the late afternoon, both Frederik and Mary took a walk down the Copacabana beach.
For all the daytime occassions, Mary wore a printed jumpsuit from the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection of the Danish brand Style Butler (+/- €200-300).
Picture

She paired the jumpsuit with a small tan leather belt, possibly the 'Emily' belt from Day Birger et Mikkelsen (€49,00) and the tan reptile leather sandals that we have seen on several occassions before, also during this trip to Brazil. It was thought these shoes were from Christian Louboutin, but if you look at the close-up of the shoes, you can clearly see that the shoes have a brown sole, and not a red one. Or do Louboutins not always have a red sole? (If you know more about this matter, please let me know! :-))

Mary accessorized her outfit with a fuchsia leather 'Bayswater' bag from Mulberry ($1.350,-). I don't believe it's available anymore in that colour, but on the site of Mulberry you can find a variety of other colours!

Mary wore a pair of gold dangle earrings with orange and blue stones that I haven't been able to ID yet. Any thoughts?
Mary's gold ring with blue stone and diamonds, is from a previous collection of Marianne Dulong.

Several people said this was a bit of a fashion miss, but I actually think Mary is one of the few royals that can get away with a print like that. I liked the combination with the belt and the sandals, but I must say that I do think the colour of the Bayswater bag was kind of off with the outfit.
What do you think?

I'd like to end this post with this lovely picture of Mary and Frederik on the Copacabana beach. They have been married now for more than 8 years, and they are still such a lovely couple!

More on the evening outfit in the next post!

After het visit to Cidade de Deus and the opening of the exhibition "A modern Royal Household", Mary joined Prince Frederik again for a reception at 19:30 held in their honor with the Danish expats in Rio. They were received by the President of the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Knud Bach. Afterwards, at 20:30, Mary and Frederik had a dinner at Grundfos together with Danish and Brazilian companies.

For the two occassions, Mary wore a lavender chiffon halter dress from a past collection of Heartmade by Julie Fagerholt, which she paired with a big white woven belt with tassels, said to be from Chanel.

The combination of the dress with the belt Mary has worn on previous occassions, for instance as seen on the picture below, taken in November 2008. I must say, I really like this colour on Mary, and the design on the dress is gorgeous, especially in combination with the wide belt.
This time, Mary paired the outfit with her beige python pumps from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection of Gianvito Rossi ($595), that we have already seen on several occassions during this tour in Brazil. Totally love the colour and design of these heels, so want them, but unfortunately not within my budget :-(

I must say that I like the combination of the dress with these shoes better than the combination with the white pumps she wore with the outfit in 2008. What do you think?

According to the Danish magazine 'Billed-Bladet' the white woven belt with the tassels is from Chanel, which could very well be so, but I haven't found the same belt online to confirm it. Mary wears this belt quite a lot. On the right picture, taken in June 2012, she wore the belt with a navy/white striped dress from Danish label Baum und Pferdgarten. If maybe you can confirm this belt is from Chanel, or know for sure it's actually from another label, please let me know!

Mary's earrings for the night are her well-known favorite pearl and diamond dangle earrings from a previous collection of Marianne Dulong.

I couldn't find a clear picture of the bag, so unfortunately I haven't been able to ID it, or to show a close-up of it. Sorry!

On 19 September 2012 it was time for Frederik and Mary's visit to Rio de Janeiro. While Prince Frederik attended a conference about oil and gas winnings, Princess Mary visited the slum Cidade de Deus ("City of God"). She was accompanied by the Brazilian Secretary of State for Social Assistance and Human Rights, António Campos Claret Son, and the superintendent of Youth, Allan Borges.
Cidade de Deus has  60,000 inhabitants, and is most known because of the 2002 film "City of God" by Fernando Meirelles, which sketches a dramatic picture of the violence caused by drug gangs. In 2009 however, the gangs were expelled in a large-scale operation that was part of a pacification program to prepare Brazil for the World Cup 2014 and the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
Mary was there, she visited a youth center, where she watched several activities, such as a display of the Brazilian battle dance capoeira. She also attended an outdoor fashion show that was organized by the residents of the favela to show the creations of the seamstress cooperative 'Osami'. The theme of the fashion show was "Princesses of the City of God". On the picture on the right you can see how she helped with the preperations by showing of her Brazilian blow-dry skills ;-)
After her visit to Cidade de Deus, Mary visited the Pontifical Catholic University, which has close ties with Danish universities.

Last on the daytime agenda for Mary was the opening of the exhibition 'A Modern Royal Household'. The exhibition shows the restoration and decoration of the Frederik VIII’s mansion in the Amalienborg Palace, where the Danish Crown Princely couple lives with their children.
Here you can find a video about Mary's visit to Cidade de Deus (it's with Danish commentary, but you can hear Mary speak to reporters in English), and here are a lot more pictures.

For the daytime events, Mary wore a lovely floral printed dress, that she previously wore to a reception in honour of the Danish athletes during the London 2012 Olympics on the Royal Yacht Dannebrog. It was identified by Royal Outfits as being from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection of the Danish label Signe Bøgelund-Jensen, and cost DKK 2.800,- (roughly $490). This specific dress seems to be sold out, but there is still a very similar dress with the same print available on the website of Signe Bøgelund-Jensen that costs DKK 2.360,- (roughly $410)

The heels Mary wore with the dress are the same as she wore on the second day of the State Visit to Brazil, with the botanical print Alberta Ferretti dress. They are beige/camel python leather sandals with ankle strap.
Considering the brown/red-ish sole they are most likely Christian Louboutin, but no matter how hard I search, I can't seem to find them online. So no definitive ID yet...

IDs on the bracelet and the earrings however are very definitive ;-) They are are both by Marianne Dulong. The bracelet is the 14 k gold with freshwater pearl 'Catena' bracelet (€4,300.80). The earrings are no longer available, but have been favorites of Mary for several years now.

In the evening both Mary and Frederik are attending a reception with Danish expats in Rio and a dinner at Grundfos with Danish and Brazilian companies.

18 September 2012 was day 3 of the State Visit to Brazil and the last day the Danish Royal Couple was in Sao Paulo.

The day started with a visit of Mary to the Dorina Novill Foundation, which focuses on care for the blind. There she attended a training for visually impaired children, where she played with lego with them and  watched some children practised reading 'The Ugly Duckling' in braille. She also talked to some of the children's parents about how they cope with their child's blindness in everyday life.

After the training Mary presented the foundation with a donation of 50,000 DKK (roughly $26,000,-) on behalf of Danish companies.

Next, Mary met up with Frederik again for the opening of the Fritz Hansen chair exhibition at Mudeo Brasileiro da Escultura.
The exhibition includes fifty Arne Jacobsen ‘Egg’ chairs, decorated by the Danish artist Tal R. The Danish furniture design company Fritz Hansen was founded in 1872 and is known for some of the iconic Scandinavian furniture designs.

Mary went with a combination of clean white and soft grey for her third day in Brazil. Her skirt consists of a sheer geometric cut-out layer with a silky underskirt and a contrast waistband ans zipper on the back. It's from H&M's luxury brand 'Cos' and costs $69. It is still available online at their webshop

Mary's classic draped shirt is from the F/W 2012 collection of Danish label Signe Bøgelund-Jensen and costs $233. It is also still available on their website. The sleeves on Mary's shirt are however a bit longer, so hers is probably an altered version.

The heels Mary has worn on several occassions in the past already. They are from the Fall/Winter 2011 collection of Gianvito Rossi and originally cost €595, and were later on sale for €297.50 at Farfetch, but are now sold out. The heels are made of soft grey python leather.

On the left you see two close-ups of the bracelet Mary wore. No ID yet. The bracelet consists of grey metallic beads and chips of shell, I believe. Anyone any idea/ID? ;-)

The large diamond roset ring we have seen on Mary before. She started wearing it since February 2012, but it has not yet been identified. It could very well be a gift from Prince Frederik.
After their daytime commitments, the Danish Crown Princely Couple travelled to Rio de Janeiro, where they attended a reception for the Danish offshore industry in the Rio Oil & Gas Expo in the evening.
EDIT: Mary wore a gorgeous new cocktail dress, from the Danish label Ole Yde. The dress is made of sheer (silk-ish) material with a dark green/grey python print. The dress has a keyhole detail on the back and some ruffles in the skirt part.

Mary's black patent leather peep toe pumps are most likely from Jimmy Choo, from their collection of a few years ago. Mary has worn them several times over the last few years already.

Mary's clutch of the evening is also a 'party favorite' of hers. It's her black satin logo box clutch from Prada, which she also carried with her to the christening of Princess Athena in May of this year.  It was sold at Bluefly for $695, but is currently sold out.

The same clutch is also a favorite of Duchess Kate, although she has it in the dusty pink colour.
Mary's accessorized her outfit with large silver and diamond earrings from the Danish jewelry brand JEWLSCPH. The earrings are still for sale and available on their website for DKK 35,999, - (roughly $6,270,- at today's exchange rate).

So, that was it for one day. Two very different outfits, but both very suitable for the occassions! I just so love her sense of style!

Picture
For the evening event, a gala dinner held for both Brazilian and Danish companies, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary 'joined forces' again after a day of separate activities.

During the event, Frederik presented the Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour and the Export Association’s Diploma to two Danish companies.

For the occassion, Mary changed into a new outfit, with both a dress and sandals that she has never worn before.  The pink brocade cocktail dress is, just as the daytime dress, from the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection of Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, also seen on Princess Beatrice during the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Summer Olympics last July.  The dress is still available on the website of Alberta Ferretti for $660.

The sandals have been ID-d as these metallic glitter sandals from the Sprint/Summer 2012 collection of Gianvito Rossi and had a retail price of € 520,-.  The shoes are now on sale and still available at Pam Jenkins (£153) and Tessabit (€208) in some sizes.

I am not sure about the designer of the clutch that Mary had with her. It looks a lot like her woven Pura Lopez clutch, but her clutch also seems a bit metallic, and the Pura Lopez one is not. Someone any idea?

What I thought was kind of funny was the fact that Mary wore a bracelet very similar to the one that Princess Beatrice wore with the dress.

Picture

It's sterling silver with a filigree pattern and it is from Danish jewelry brand JEWLSCPH. The cuff bracelet is still available on their website for 6,299 DKK (roughly $1,100 at today's exchage rates).  The earrings are still a mystery to me. They are bronx/brown-ish with a circle filigree pattern.

During the second day of their State Visit to Brazil the Danish Royal Couple stayed in Sao Paulo. After a meeting with representatives from Danish companies at the Renaissance hotel, the couple went their seperate ways.

Mary visited the the Casa Cidinha Copcak, which is a center that tries to support woman who have been the subject of violence, especially from their husbands. Mary has been strongly committed to the fight against domestic violence, for years now, through the Mary Foundation.  Via the foundation, women can get financial, legal and psychological support to get out of an abusive relationship, and Mary rejoiced that Brazilian women now have a place to go where they can get similar help.

Princess Mary got a tour through the center and was told about its accomplishments in Sao Paulo so far. After the tour Mary listened to some life stories of several women at the center, and a Brazilian choir sang to her.

Here you can find a video of Mary's visit to the center.

For the daytime events Mary wore a new dress. It's the 'Sleeveless Botanical Print Shift dress' from the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection of Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti ($620). The dress is made of 100% polyester with a 100% rayon lining, and is still available on the website of Marissa Collections and Alberta Ferretti.
Mary's clutch is most likely the 'Aicha' clutch from the Danish luxury brand Carlend Copenhagen. The clutch is currently sold out, but will be available again October/November, and you can pre-order it via their website. The clutch costs 8.000,- DKK, which is about US$ 1.400,- at today's exchange rates.

'Aqua' earrings, Marianne Dulong, €1,774.08
Mary accessorized her outfit with a pair of earrings that she has worn a lot already.

They are the 18k gold with Tahitian pearls 'Aqua' earrings from her favourite Danish jewelry brand: Marianne Dulong. The earrings are available in a variety of different colours and materials. The ones Mary wears here are sold for € 1,774.08.
I haven't really been able to ID the sandals and the bracelet Mary wore. Some other Mary-related blogs suggest the sandals might be Christian Louboutin, and looking at the brown/red colour of the heel they could very well be right, but I haven't found the exact sandals yet, so I can't confirm.

The bracelet Mary wore is a combination of black cuff and black freshwater pearls (I think, looking at the pictures, but they could very well also be beads). I thought it might be from Amrita Singh, it looks a lot like their style and Mary has worn some of their earrings in the past, but I couldn't find it on their website. Any ideas on an ID are very welcome!

On 16 September 2012 The Danish Crown Princely couple started a six day official visit to Brazil. They will visit São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte during their tour to promote Danish interests in Brazil.

Their first day started in the largest city of Brazil, São Paulo  where they are staying at he exclusive Renaissance Hotel.

The couple opened the Asger Jorn exhibition at the Tomie Ohtake Institute. This exhibition consists of 55 paintings, watercolors and graphics of the famous Danish artist. The Royal Couple was welcomed by Ricardo Ohtake, the son of the Japanese painter after which the gallery is named, and by Jacob Thage, the president of the Jorn Museum in Silkeborg.

After the exhibition, Frederik and Mary visited the Scandinavian Church, also in São Paulo, were they were greated by a samba orchestra and a group scouts holding Danish flags. Seven-year Maria Garibetti and nine-year Rodrigo, welcomed the couple by giving Mary an all red and white bouquet.

For the two daytime events Mary wore a mint blue sleeveless dress with pleats by Prada, with an off-white chantilly lace coat from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection of Miu Miu (€1.950)

I believe she paired the outfit with nude patent leather pumps from the S/S 2012 collection of Prada ($620)

Mary wore also two of her gold bracelets from Danish jewelry designer Marianne Dulong, the 18k gold with eight brilliant cut diamonds 'Lumina' bracelet (€4,132.80), and the 18k gold with five brilliant cut diamonds 'Ellipse' bracelet (€2,755.20). Her light green/blue earrings are from a previous Marianne Dulong collection.

For the evening events, which also included a reception with the Danish expats in Brazil, Mary made some changes to her wardrobe to make it somewhat more evening-appropriate.

The Miu Miu lace coat came off, and she added a small snake skin belt with gold round buckle, which I haven't been able to ID yet. There are a LOT of similar ones! She also changed from her nude pumps to gold sandals, also no ID yet.

The box clutch she already used on previous occassions. It's from the Spring 2012 'Jellybean' collection of Judith Leiber and is made of crocodile skin, with a 19" chain and a semiprecious stone clasp. The clutch is still available in a variety of colours for $3.495,-.

Judith Leiber is known for her beautiful, often extravagant designed handbags. The one even more gorgeous and bizarre than the other. Below is just a selection of them. If you click on the picture you can view even more.
